Chosen Charity for the Hackney

The Access To Sports project (along with SkyWay and Off Centre) has been lucky enough to have been chosen as one of the three Hackney Speaker charities for 2017/18.  We will be doing a number of fundraising events throughout the year to help ensure we can all continue the good work we are doing to deliver positive activities for young people in Hackney.  We started our events on Saturday 2nd September when one of our staff members, Sharareh Avazzadeh bravely took on the challenge of freefalling 262 feet from the UK’s tallest sculpture – ArcelorMittal Orbit, on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park alongside two Hackney Councillors, the Speaker’s Consort, and two people representing Off Centre and SkyWay.

Keep an eye out for future fundraising events!

The Access to Sports Project’s next challenge is the Adidas 10k City Run in Shoreditch which takes place on the Sunday the 8th October. The members of the team that are stepping up to the challenge are: Ismail Marchie , Shaheed Miah, KJ De Morais & Sean Burke.

We wish them luck for taking this challenge, we ask if anyone happens to be down watching the race to give our team a big cheer if you see them. Also help support the team by donating to the Hackney speakers virgin money giving page below and tag ‘ Come on A2S’, any donations given are much appreciated and we thank you in advance.
